"Flowers on passionate red" wide ikat fabric
This is a "widened" hand-dyed and hand-woven cotton / silk blend solid fabric.
Some background info: handwoven ikats from Central Asia are usually narrow. This width is limited by the width of hand looms. The narrowness of the fabric represents an inconvenience in design projects. It is also frustrating to buy several meters of fabric to find out later that the available meters will not allow you to match the ikat pattern. We felt your pain, the creative crowd, and we are introducing wider ikats which are in essence are narrow ikats skillfully put together matching ikat patterns. This fabric is a hand dyed and hand woven ikat adras (cotton/silk blend fabric). Ikat is a technique of weaving that requires a great amount of precision of tying and dyeing silk yarn in order to achieve a desired pattern.
