We have a new dyelot of “Fruity and Juicy” cotton silk ikat fabric which is available at this link:. This multicolor cotton silk blend ikat was hand dyed and handloom woven in Margilan, Uzbekistan . This is a perfect ikat pattern for projects where you need to add a pinch of fresh and vibrant colors.
Differences with an old dyelot
New dyelot has a mat antiqued finish and is 4 cm (1.8″) wider. This ikat dyelot has a beautiful moire pattern.
We still have some remaining fabric from the 1st dyelot of “Fruity and Juicy” as follows:
- Fruity and Juicy dyelot 1 – here we have only 2 meters left
- Fruity and Juicy dyelot 1 widened by us – this is a widened fabric with matched ikat pattern.
As always, these fabrics are handloom woven of approximately 50% silk and 50% cotton yarn.
Interesting fact about this ikat fabric
British designer Kit Kemp designs vibrant and eclectic interiors. She is also a master of creating unique hotel experiences. It seems like Kit Kemp has a particular liking for ikats, especially for using them in lampshades. Here is an example of how she used “Fruity and Juicy” Ikat pattern for ikat lampshades in the Library of The Soho hotel in London.
