Handwoven Uniqueness

We embrace the inherent beauty of handmade pieces where no two items are exactly alike. The nuances in weaving, the subtleties of dyeing—these variations are the soul of each ikat fabric, making them truly one-of-a-kind.

Occasionally, some of our items display more distinctive weaving or dyeing irregularities than usual. Understanding the value of these imperfections, we mark these items as “As Is”.  These are the same unique unique pieces at discounted prices, celebrating their distinctiveness.

New “As Is” silk ikat scarf

Today, we have a new “as is” product: our stunning Spring Silk Ikat Scarf. As you know, we do “pre-departure checks” of our products. We often video record the process and share it on our Instagram. During one of these checks last week this scarf received a designation of “As Is”.  This scarf boasts pure silk, meticulously hand-dyed and handloom woven in the picturesque Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan.

Small Ikat Weaving Imperfection

We believe in transparency and honesty. This particular silk  ikat scarf, despite its overall beauty, exhibits a small weaving imperfection, as depicted in the accompanying photos. This flaw, while minor, sets it apart and gives it an individual story to tell. Like, “I did not pass a pre-departure check to Salt Lake city  because my soul is destined to live in Kyoto, Japan.
