Ikat pillow cover made of our handwoven cotton/silk blend ikat fabric. The size of this ikat pillow cover is the most commonly used size – 16”x16” or for those of us in the metric world 41cm x 41cm. The cover closes with an invisible zipper on a side and fits standard 16" (41cm) pillow inserts. Inserts are not sold with a pillow cover but you can buy one easily anywhere where inserts are sold.

Beautiful color combination

Interior designers and decorators can probably tell that this ikat pillow cover has a gorgeous contrasting color combination of a light turquoise and a contrasting mustard yellow. Both colors are very rich yet fresh.

Handmade artisanal product

This is a handmade product. As such, it has certain weaving irregularities which are inherent to a manual weaving. It is exactly these irregularities which make these ikat lumbar pillow covers unique artisanal products.

Lighting

We take all photos in natural light to show the most realistic colors of the product. This particular ikat pillow cover was photographed around 5pm outdoors on summer sunny day. This explain a play of sun rays on the ikat pillow. Indoors or on a cloudy day colors of the ikat pillow cover will, obviously, be darker.

Moire pattern

What is moire pattern? It is a mechanical finishing process which enhances the fabric into a shimmering sophisticated material. Moire looks like water waves on the fabric and is something you can find in handmade fabrics. Please pay attention to the images to appreciate the beauty of the moire.

How to care for ikat lumbar pillow

Ikat fabrics of which our ikat pillows are made are luxurious noble fabrics. Moire does not get along well with moisture. This is why we recommend dry cleaning the ikat pillow cover to retain the stiffness, shape and luster of moire effect.
