Our collection of suzani embroidered pillow covers includes hand embroidered suzani pillow covers as well as machine embroidered ones. The base fabric of each suzani pillow cover is an undyed cotton cloth. Embroidery threads are hand dyed silk floss.
The term suzani derives from a Farsi word for a needle, ‘suzan”. According to Uzbek traditions girls learnt an art of suzani embroidery from an early age and embroidered various things for their dowries. These embroidered pieces were bedcovers, pillow covers and various other textile items. Soul finds its reflection in a work that the soul makes. This is why, one could read a character of a girl by inspecting her suzani. Is she joyous? is she peaceful? Does she pay attention to details?

"Green treasure box" jewelry box
Very unique box in its octagon shape and in its exquisite details of painting. The box is made of durable papier-mache which was processed to have a smooth surface (versus “wrinkly” surface). The flower stems of the decoration and the border were painted in liquid bronze, which makes the colors more vivid. This is the last touch that's added to the box before covering it with several layers of lacquer for protection. The box is signed and dated by the artist Koshib Omonov.
