Our collection of suzani embroidered pillow covers includes hand embroidered suzani pillow covers as well as machine embroidered ones. The base fabric of each suzani pillow cover is an undyed cotton cloth. Embroidery threads are hand dyed silk floss.
The term suzani derives from a Farsi word for a needle, ‘suzan”. According to Uzbek traditions girls learnt an art of suzani embroidery from an early age and embroidered various things for their dowries. These embroidered pieces were bedcovers, pillow covers and various other textile items. Soul finds its reflection in a work that the soul makes. This is why, one could read a character of a girl by inspecting her suzani. Is she joyous? is she peaceful? Does she pay attention to details?

Ikat bedspreads and quilts
Ikat quilts is our humble attempt of bringing Central Asian ikat textiles into a bedroom as bedspreads. We have used handmade ikat fabrics and paired them either with matching ikats or contrasting solid fabrics. To give some thickness to the bedspreads we padded them with an unbleached cotton fabric.
