Floral white pink green hand embroidered suzani pillow cover from Uzbekistan

Our collection of suzani embroidered pillow covers includes hand embroidered suzani pillow covers as well as machine embroidered ones. The base fabric of each suzani pillow cover is an undyed cotton cloth. Embroidery threads are hand dyed silk floss.

The term suzani derives from a Farsi word for a needle, ‘suzan”. According to Uzbek traditions girls learnt an art of suzani embroidery from an early age and embroidered various things for their dowries. These embroidered pieces were bedcovers, pillow covers and various other textile items. Soul finds its reflection in a work that the soul makes. This is why, one could read a character of a girl by inspecting her suzani. Is she joyous? is she peaceful? Does she pay attention to details?

Please also check out our Suzani embroidery section for some suzani table runners and suzani tableclothes.

Orange ikat porcelain bowls are the Soviet porcelain classics which have become a global trend in the last decade.

These bowls were used in the past, each to a different extent. They are still in a good condition. We picked bowls with neither chips nor cracks. There is a golden rim around the edge of each bowl which qualifies them as "hand wash" and "no microwave".

These bowls can be used to serve food - they are designed as a practical household item - or as a decorative item. We estimate the age of these bowls to be 25-30 years. They date back to the Soviet era (pre-1991).

The price is for each bowl.
