Some background info: handwoven ikats from Uzbekistan are usually narrow. This width is limited by the width of hand looms. The narrowness of the fabric represents an inconvenience in design projects. It is also frustrating to buy several meters of fabric to find out later that the available meters will not allow you to match the ikat pattern.
